Injuries: Hawks—Kent Bazemore (knee), Malcolm Delaney (ankle), Jaylen Morris (ankle) and Dennis Schroder (ankle) are out.

Celtics—Gordon Hayward (ankle), Kyrie Irving (knee), Marcus Morris (rest), Marcus Smart (thumb) and Daniel Theis (knee) are out; Guerschon Yabusele (knee) is doubtful.

What to watch for

The Hawks (23-57) no longer can secure the top odds for the draft lottery by finishing with the league’s worst record. But they are still in contention for the second-worst record and second-best lottery odds.

If the Hawks lose to the Celtics they would be tied with the Grizzlies (21-58) for the league’s second-most defeats, at least temporarily. The Grizzlies (21-59) have a home game against the Pistons later this afternoon. If the Hawks win and the Grizzlies lose then Atlanta would be out of contention for the second-worst record.

The Celtics (54-25) are locked into the No. 2 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference. They learned last week that All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving’s injury will keep him out for the playoffs.
