Five things we learned about the Hawks on Thursday:

1. The Hawks did not hold a formal practice Thursday before departing for Toronto in advance of Friday's game. The team opted for a recovery and treatment day.

2. Dwight Howard is one of the top screen men in the NBA – and it's not all bulk. The center continues to learn the nuances of the Hawks' pick-and-roll offense.

3. Kent Bazemore was removed from the injury report due to a sore right knee. The report only lists Tiago Splitter as out.

4. Mike Scott was continue his NBA Development League stint for the Long Island Nets on Friday. He is expected to be recalled on Saturday. However, that is subject to change.

5. The NBA reached a tentative deal on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement Wednesday night. According to reports there are several changes to the previous agreement. One could affect the free agency of Paul Millsap when he opts out of his final year following the season. Look for upcoming information about the ramifications.
