Preston Tucker started in left field Monday for the first game of the Braves’ doubleheader against the Mets.

Ronald Acuna left Sunday's game with lower-back pain and a possible knee injury, as the team announced it. He looked as if he hyperextended his knee running through first base in the seventh inning at Boston.

The Braves placed Acuna,  the team's top prospect, on the 10-day disabled list Monday after an MRI test showed a sprain and multiple contusions to his back and left knee.

“Our prayers and thoughts go to him,” shortstop Dansby Swanson said. “It’s definitely scary anytime you see a teammate go down the way he did. But we’re thankful he was able to walk off on his own power. I think he’ll bounce back just fine. It’s just a matter of when.”

Braves manager Brian Snitker thought the injury was comparable to Bryce Harper’s injury a season ago, which kept him out for 42 games.

Tucker, 27, manned left while Acuna began the season in the minors. He has slashed .278/.313/.456 with three homers and 19 RBIs.
