What model bat do you use?

Louisville (Slugger) model, 34. I love it. I’ve been using it the last three years. I live the balance, the feel. When you use your bat, you want to use something you feel good with.

What will be your walk-up music?

It's normally one from Marc Anthony, 'Vivir Mi Vida' (Live My Life). I don't know if I'm going to use it this year. I just like to use something to me pump me up.

What do you know about baseball now that you didn’t know when you signed?

You appreciate (it) more, the game. You learn to create your own routine when you come to the field every day. It’s something you love but it’s also your job. I love being at my workplace and I try to enjoy it every day.

What do you know about life now that you didn’t know when you were younger?

You’ve got to appreciate every single of your life because you never know when it’s going to end or when you stop having what you have.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love going to the beach. When I’m on vacation I’m a guy that likes to chill a lot. I’m not a guy that’s going to be out in the night a lot. I live going to the movies. Just doing relaxed stuff.

What is your favorite baseball movie?

“Major League.” Charlie Sheen in that one was really funny. Everybody knows that.

What do you like about the current state of baseball?

The competition. The other team, the other pitcher, they are trying to beat you and you are trying to beat them. The competition is the fun part of this game.

Is there anything you’d like to see better about the game?

No. I think this game is perfect is the way it’s made. We just have to keep playing it with a lot of respect.

You ever get a good baseball tip?

I had a hitting coach, Turner Ward, and he would come every day and give me a tip about how to appreciate the game every day. Don’t think about the future or the past. Take care of the present because that’s all you can control.

What do you remember about your first big league home run?

It was against the Braves (on July 5, 2014). I remember actually talking to Turner. The Braves scored like five runs that inning and I said to him, ‘Do you think I can swing first pitch?’ He said ‘Go swing at the first pitch, but swing hard.’ I actually got the first one against Aaron Harang.
