After four seasons on the Braves’ broadcast team, Kelsey Wingert sent a heartfelt parting message Thursday.

“#BravesCountry, it’s been an incredible four seasons but I’m really sad to say that my time with Fox Sports South is coming to an end over the next few weeks,” Wingert wrote to her 84,000 Twitter followers. “I’m so excited for the next chapter and will keep you guys posted as I move forward in my career.”

She went on to thank players, coaches, fans and colleagues.

Many Braves fans have taken to social media in the past two days to protest Fox Sports South's decision not to renew Wingert's contract. A "Keep Kelsey Wingert" petition had drawn more than 10,000 online signatures by Friday morning.

“I have no words, especially after the last two days,” Wingert wrote in her message to Braves Country. “Your support has been so overwhelming in such a good way during a tough time.”

Fox Sports South and Fox Sports Southeast said Thursday that former Chicago sportscaster Kelly Crull will join Braves telecasts as an in-game reporter this season, replacing Wingert. Crull previously had a similar role on Cubs telecasts for NBC Sports Chicago.

Wingert closed her message with this: “Atlanta, I love you. Chop on forever.”

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
