The Braves are reportedly working to bring back Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton, who worked as a broadcaster with the organization for 18 seasons, to team with recently-hired Jim Powell in the radio booth next season.

The Braves broadcast team circa 2002: (left to right) Joe Simpson, Don Sutton, Pete Van Wieren and Skip Caray. Of the group, Simpson is the only current Braves analyst. Sutton left in 2006, Van Wieren retired in 2008 and Caray passed away midseason in 2008.

1971: By the time this 1971 photo of Sutton was taken, the Dodgers righty was hitting his stride as a starter, going 17-12 in '71. During his career with L.A., Sutton won 233 games for the Dodgers.

1966: Sutton served his country when called upon in 1966. Of his service, which included shining shoes, doing exercises and throwing grenades to be a platoon guide, Sutton told former AJC photographer Charles Bennett "It's not bad."

Sutton throws against the Houston Astros during Dodgers spring training camp March 23, 1988 in Vero Beach, Fla. At age 43, Sutton ended his MLB career with L.A., his first team, going 3-6.

A four-time baseball All-Star, Sutton became the 233rd member and the 176th player elected to the Hall of Fame in 1998. Here, he displays three baseballs in honor of his 324 career wins. During his 23-year MLB career, Sutton pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1966-80 and again in 1988, also spending time with the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics and California Angels.
