Braves’ upcoming opponent: About the Marlins

Braves' opponent: Miami Marlins

Keep an eye on: Dee Gordon. His walk-off double Wednesday against the Phillies gave him a majors-leading 190 hits on the season, just 10 shy of the magical 200 mark. His .332 batting average was ranked third in the majors and his 53 stolen bases second. Gordon is just the fourth player in Marlins history with 50 or more multi-hit games in a season (54) and 50 or more stolen bases. The other three are Hanley Ramirez (2007), Juan Pierre (2003, 2005) and Luis Castillo (2000).

Who's hot: Miguel Rojas took an eight-game hitting streak into Thursday's game against the Phillies, having hit .429 (12-for-28) with three doubles and a home run over that time.

Who's not: Ichiro Suzuki was just 2-for-17 (.118) over his previous six games entering Thursday.

Braves connection: Martin Prado has been out of the Marlins lineup since injuring his wrist since last Thursday against Washington. He has begun doing some light swinging though. He was hitting .372 (32-for-86) with six doubles, four home runs and 18 RBIs over his previous 23 games and had reached base safely in 40 of his previous 42 games.

In the news: Adeiny Hechavarria has been out since Sept. 2 with a sore left hamstring but is nearing a return. Giancarlo Stanton has been out since June 26 with a broken bone in his left hand. He has had two setbacks in his attempt to return this month and if he can't get back into action by the end of the week could well shut it down for the season.
