Braves’ upcoming opponent: About the Brewers

Braves' opponent: Milwaukee Brewers
Keep an eye on: Aramis Ramirez. The Braves killer from way back has announced this is his final season. At the rate the 37-year-old third baseman is going, he might finish it with another team than the NL Central bottom-dwelling Brewers. He's swinging a hot bat, which makes him a commodity on the trade market as the July 31 deadline approaches. Ramirez has a hit in each of the Brewers' eight straight wins entering this series. He's batting .520 (13-for-25) over that time, with three doubles a home run and 11 RBIs.
Who's hot: Gerardo Parra has five straight multi-hit games, while going 11-for-22 (.500) with a double, two home runs and four RBIs.
Who's hot Part II: When a team has won eight straight, compiling double-digit hits in each game, you don't bother with a "who's not." Adam Lind has tied a Brewers' record by driving in runs in nine straight games.
Braves connection: Newnan native Will Smith was ejected during the last series between these teams in Atlanta for pitching with a foreign substance – later said to be rosin and sunscreen – on his arm on May 21.
In the news: An old Braves' nemesis Carlos Gomez was out of the Brewers' lineup Sunday after getting hit on the left wrist by a pitch Saturday night. He voiced his frustration to Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writer Tom Haudricourt over getting hit on the wrist for the third time this season on a ball up and in. "I try to play like a good boy and take it like a man and go to first base. But one of (these) days, it's going to be ugly." One of those hits on the wrist came from Atlanta's Mike Foltynewicz on May 24. Gomez also took a Noah Syndergaard 97 mph fastball to the helmet on May 17.
In the news Part II: Khris Davis is expected to be activated from the disabled list early in this homestand, though manager Craig Counsell hasn't specified exactly when. The Brewers already have a hot-hitting outfield, led by Parra, who has hit .328 while filling in for Davis. Davis underwent knee surgery for a torn meniscus he suffered May 30.
