The Braves sent minor league reliever Ryne Harper to the Seattle Mariners as the player to be named later in a Dec. 4 trade for reliever Jose Ramirez.

Harper, 26, posted a 1.87 ERA in 23 appearances at Double-A Mississippi in 2015, with 40 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. The right-hander was a 37th-round draft pick by the Braves in 2011 out of Austin Peay State University, and hasn’t pitched above Double-A.

Ramirez, who’ll be 26 in January, has an 8.66 ERA in 16 relief appearances over two seasons, with 15 strikeouts and 17 walks in 17 2/3 innings. He had a 12.91 ERA in eight appearances last season, including three with the Yankees and five with the Cubs.
