The Braves placed utility infielder Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list after he injured his left hamstring for the second time this season.

Beckham suffered the strain while running to first base during Wednesday’s game against the Giants. Beckham missed 18 games after injuring the same hamstring April 16 at the Marlins.

In 31 games Beckham has hit 284 with a .382 on-base percentage and .432 slugging percentage. He’s started 17 games at second base, 10 at third and four at shortstop.

Beckham played at Westminster Schools and the University of Georgia.

To take Beckham’s place on the roster, the Braves promoted infielder Brandon Snyder from Triple-A Gwinnett.
