Jose Bautista’s attempt to revive his career and win a shot on the Braves’ roster continued Wednesday at Triple-A Gwinnett.
Bautista was 2-for-3 against Charlotte, with two singles. He’s 9-for-36 (.250) in 10 games with the Stripers, with six runs scored, two extra-base hits, a double and a home run, along with eight strikeouts.
Bautista was hitless in his first two games at Gwinnett, in six at-bats, so he is hitting .300 since those games.
The Braves signed Bautista, who played for Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos in Toronto, to a minor league contract April 18. He played two games for the high Single-A Florida Fire Frogs before his promotion to Gwinnett. Bautista was 2-for-7 with two walks at Florida.
