It’s time for my weekly MLS Power Poll, the only MLS Power Poll that recognizes that arbitrarily ranking teams means nothing in the grand scheme of things and is done just to spark debate and not attach importance to the reporter’s ego.

 1. Atlanta United (21-7-6)

Last week: 3.

Result: Advanced to Eastern Conference finals by defeating NYCFC.

The Five Stripes are starting to look like their old selves: opportunistic on offense and tough on defense.

» More: Nagbe out; four others called up by national teams

-

2. New York Red Bulls (22-7-5)

The Red Bulls must feel confident about its chances of advancing to the MLS Cup because it has yet to lose to Atlanta United.

-
