Atlanta United's Jeff Larentowicz received a red card after Sunday's 3-3 draw with New York Red Bulls.
Larentowicz, who came on as a sub in the 84th minute, was involved in two incidents during the game.
The red card came when Larentowicz stomped on the toes and pushed down Cristian Casseres Jr. in the sixth minute of stoppage time. The two players were exchanging pushes before a throw-in. The red card was issued by referee Kevin Stott for “violent conduct.”
Unless Atlanta United successfully appeals, Larentowicz will miss next Sunday’s game at Seattle. He left the locker room on Sunday before most journalists arrived following manager Frank de Boer’s press conference.
On the first, Larentowicz pushed down New York’s Marc Rzatkowksi, who was nose-to-nose with Franco Escobar. Stott seemed to discuss the play the the Video Assistant Referee, but no card was issued.
