Atlanta United fullback George Bello was called by U.S. Soccer for the upcoming U17 World Cup in Brazil.

The team, which is in Group D,  will play Senegal in Cariacica on Oct. 26, face Japan in Cariacica on Oct. 30 and the Netherlands in Goiania on Nov. 2.

Bello, a 17-year-old Douglasville resident, is one of Atlanta United’s Homegrown signings. He made three appearances last season. He played in the team’s first game this season in the CONCACAF Champions League. An injury sidelined him. He recovered and has made 12 appearances with Atlanta United 2 in the USL. He has scored one goal.

Bello has made eight appearances with the U17s.
