FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons (8-7) are set to face the Commanders (10-5) at 8:20 p.m. at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, and the game has playoffs implications for both teams.

The Falcons can clinch the NFC South division title with a win and a loss by Tampa Bay, who host the Panthers at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Commanders can clinch a berth in the playoffs with a win or tie and a Tampa Bay loss or tie.

The game will feature rookie quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. of the Falcons, the No. 8 overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft, and Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick. It will mark the first prime-time game in NFL history between rookie starting quarterbacks each selected in the first round, according to the NFL.
