Indianapolis Colts director of college scouting Morocco Brown interviewed for the Falcons’ vacant general manager position Tuesday, the team announced.
Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting Brad Holmes also was interviewed Tuesday.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Dec. 8 that Holmes would interview for the position. He became the third person to interview for the job that was held by Thomas Dimitroff from January 2008 through Oct. 11, 2020.
Earlier, the Falcons interviewed Rick Smith, a former Houston Texans general manager who worked on the competition committee with Falcons president Rich McKay for nearly a decade, and Falcons director of college scouting Anthony Robinson.
Brown joined the Colts in 2017. He also has worked with the Browns (2014-15), Washington (2008-2013) and the Bears (2001-07).
He’s been credited with the Colts recently drafting guard Quenton Nelson and linebacker Darius Leonard.

“We like players that are smart, fast and physical,” Brown told the Colts’ website at the 2020 Senior Bowl. “So I think that’s a good baseline to start. And you want fast guys because they shrink the field and give you that explosive advantage.
“Smart guys — well, I’ll say dumb guys get you beat. So you want the guy that can do what you’re asking him to do. And then being physical, that’s what the game is. It’s a tough, hard-nosed game, and you have to impose your will on another man and move guys out of the way, and take another man’s job.”
With Washington, Brown was the director of pro personnel. With Chicago he was the assistant director of pro personnel. He also was an assistant scout for Washington in 2000 after serving as a scouting intern for the Colts in 2000.
Brown, a native of Hampton, Va., was a four-year letterman at N.C. State and was a two-time honorable-mention All-ACC pick.
Holmes works for former Falcons executive Les Snead, who’s the Rams’ general manager. He has been with the Rams for the past 18 seasons, starting in public relations and moving to scouting.
He worked his way up from low-level scouting positions to become the director scouting in 2012. Holmes, who played at North Carolina A&T, resides in Atlanta in part because of its proximity to the top college talent in the SEC and ACC.
Dimitroff was New England’s director of scouting before the Falcons hired him in 2008.
Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and interim coach Raheem Morris have interviewed for the vacant head coach position.
The Falcons also were granted permission to interview Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady, according to The Associated Press.
The Falcons are seeking to replace Dan Quinn, who was fired Oct. 11 after five-plus seasons. Quinn, one of two coaches to guide the Falcons to the Super Bowl, finished with a 43-42 regular-season record. He was 3-2 in the playoffs, including the 34-28 loss to New England in Super Bowl LI.
With the season completed, teams can hold in-person interviews for head coach and general manager positions with candidates who are not a current NFL team employee or whose team was eliminated from the playoffs.
Virtual interviews for head coach positions may begin with coaches whose teams have a bye in the first week of the playoffs, and may continue through the conclusion of wild-card games Jan. 10.
Virtual interviews for high-level club employees and secondary football executive positions may begin. Once a candidate’s employer team is eliminated from the playoffs, in-person interviews may begin.
