FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons cornerback Kendall Sheffield (hamstring) is out for the game against Dallas on Sunday.
“I don’t think it’s long-term,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said of Sheffield’s injury.
Also, the Falcons will make a decision on outside linebacker Dante Fowler (left knee) on Saturday. He was injured in the Jets game Oct. 10 in London and has missed the past three games.
The Falcons activated his 21-day period to return from short-term injured reserve Monday.
“We’re being cautious,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said Friday. “We’ll decide (Saturday). A lot of it is how he feels when he wakes up. We’ll see where we are at.”
Tight end Lee Smith (back), defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard (concussion) and outside linebacker Steven Means (knee) were listed as doubtful. Defensive tackle John Cominsky (shoulder) was listed as questionable.
“We’ll see,” Smith said. “It’s kind of like with Dante. We’ll see how the week went. With a veteran like (Lee Smith), there is a possibility that he can play because he’s prepared, but we are being cautious with it. We’re going to list him as doubtful, but we are going to assess those guys in the morning.”
