FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons inside linebacker Deion Jones, who amassed 15 tackles in the 30-28 win over the Dolphins, was named the NFC’s defensive player of the week on Wednesday.

Jones also had three tackles losses and a sack while playing 100% of the defensive snaps. It’s the third time that Jones has won the award, which is tied for a team record with Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders and defensive end Chuck Smith.
