Anderson Asiedu is officially an Atlanta United player.
The midfielder from UCLA, the team’s pick in the first round of this year’s SuperDraft, was announced on Friday, which is the day teams must submit its official roster to MLS.
Asiedu, a 22-year-old native of Ghana, will occupy an international slot on Atlanta United's roster.
“After a good college career, we targeted Anderson in the SuperDraft as a midfielder who could immediately compete at a high level,” Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement. “He’s proven that during preseason and he’s earned a spot on our roster.”
Asiedu will likely see more time this season with Atlanta United 2 than Atlanta United.
