Coaches are making the most of Andre Branch's athleticism, playing him at DE and two LB positions Saturday. He had two sacks and three tackles for loss.

LB Kylan Robinson, who made his first career start against the Buckeyes, is the only ACC player from Alaska. ... WR Leonard Hankerson, who had seven catches for 90 yards, has caught at least one pass in 15 consecutive games.

North Carolina leads the ACC in passing offense at 412 yards per game, all of it in the opening loss to LSU.

The officials who blew a call in USC's 17-14 victory over the Cavaliers have been suspended for a game by Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott. According to the release, "The officials misapplied rules for blocking below the waist on a Virginia fake punt in the second quarter." ... TE Joe Torchia is the ACC offensive lineman of the week with five receptions for 73 yards against USC. ... K Robert Randolph, who missed only two field goals in 2009, has missed three in two games, including both of his attempts Saturday.
