Bloomberg Technology reported that Twitter is no longer counting characters in photos and links in its 140-character limit for tweets, according to an anonymous source.

The source asked to not be named as the decision is not yet public, but says the change could happen in the next two weeks.

The change is part of an effort to make composing tweets easier.

Bloomberg Technology reported that by not including links in the character limit, users may be encouraged to have more media in their tweets.

As of now, links are automatically shortened when included in a tweet, but they contain 23 characters.

Twitter declined to comment on the report.
