Founder and CEP of Nurse Sam Global Media LLC, Cepeda is a licensed practical nurse that is providing a digital education platform that is part nursing school and part entertainment.
“I believe that a person ‘retains when they’re entertained’ so I created the Nursing School Study Bar — centered around my mission to bridge the gap between studying and engaging, interactive learning in nursing school,” Cepeda said on her website. “I sell creative digital products/notes and study guides influenced by nostalgia and entertainment.”
Speaking to Voyage ATL, Cepeda offered some insight into what she believes makes her study supplements so helpful for hopeful nurses.
“I created The Nurse Sam to redefine the term ‘work-life balance’ to: #1 actually make it obtainable and more importantly, realistic! #2 increase the talk of the importance of self-care and life balance within the field of nursing and beyond,” she told Voyage ATL. “I help nursing students survive nursing school through study guide kits and creative study strategies. There’s a lot of things that you have to deal with in nursing that nursing school doesn’t address. I aim to address those things and arm students and new grad nurses with the resources needed to survive nursing.”
While The Nurse Sam study kits range from $8 for a “Critical Care Study Kit” to $200 for the “Ultimate Nursing School Bundle,” the company also offers free digital download PDF worksheets and study guides — including a breakdown of what to expect on the next generation NCLEX exam.
