Popular food truck Yumbii and Cafe at Pharr, an Atlanta sandwich and salad restaurant, will open a pop-up eatery at Atlantic Station next month.
The pair will operate the restaurant in the space being vacated by The Grape on the corner of 19th Street and West District Avenue, Atlantic Station leaders said.
“As Atlanta’s No. 1 food truck, it was a no brainer for us to take the Yumbii concept to a brick and mortar pop-up,” Josh Chudnovsky, Cafe at Pharr and Yumbii partner said in a statement. “It also makes sense to bring to Atlantic Station one of Atlanta’s longest running and most popular cafés.”
The two eateries, which are sister restaurants, will open the one-of-a-kind joint concept June 1 in anticipation of the BB&T Atlanta Open July 14-22. The store is scheduled to close Aug. 5.
Yumbii will run its trucks as normal.
“Pop-ups are a way for restaurants to test concepts and expand brands to new neighborhoods,” said Liz Gillespie, director of marketing for Atlantic Station. “For guests, pop-ups mean access to an unexpected dining experience at affordable prices as well as the thrill of taking part in something fleeting.”
