Police say a truck driver ran over and dragged a 71-year-old nurse in Johns Creek Thursday.
The nurse, who has not been identified, is in critical condition was hit by a delivery truck at 3005 Old Alabama Road, police said.
A witness, Aaron Smith, told Channel 2 Action News’ Mike Petchenik he saw the entire thing happen.
“Ran right over her and dragged her about 60 yards,” Smith told the news station. “The lady was under the truck for about 30 minutes I’d like to say. They were putting the truck up on jacks and big block cylinders, trying to get the wheel off. She was obviously in shock.”
Captain Chris Byers said investigators will determine whether the driver should face charges.
“They’ll talk to witnesses, look at all the evidence, the position of the vehicle and reconstruct the scene the best we can come to how it occurred,” Byers told Petchenik,
The woman was airlifted to the Atlanta Medical Center.
