The body of a woman found by hunters may have been in the area for two months, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
The woman has been identified as Julia Miller, 24, of Douglasville, according to Deputy Robin Regan. On Dec. 27, deer hunters walking through a 60-acre tract of land near McFarland and Ridgeland parkways found the body, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
No signs of trauma were found on the body and foul play is not suspected, Regan said. An autopsy and toxicology tested will be conducted at the GBI crime lab.
Miller was last seen in the area on Oct. 28 around 10:15 p.m. after she was allegedly involved in shoplifting at a nearby RaceTrac gas station, Regan said. A deputy located Miller’s vehicle at a nearby industrial park, but she was not located and an arrest warrant was issued. Miller’s body was found about 500 feet away, deep in the woods, Regan said.
Miller had not been reported missing by family or friends, according to police.
