Burger King is officially bringing a black burger, similar to one of the menu items in its restaurants in Japan, to the United States.

Unlike the Japanese version, which is made black with squid ink, the American version’s pitch black bun has the added bonus of being slathered in steak sauce.

Dubbed the "A.1. Halloween Whopper" (or Ha.1.Loween Whopper, per FastFoodWatch), the new burger is made with a beef patty topped with melted American cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, pickles, onions and, of course, A.1. Steak Sauce.

The new Whopper’s black bun gets its distinct color by baking steak sauce directly into the bread — no squid ink necessary.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
