Wednesday’s forecast can be summed up with two words: hot and wet.
“Another day where we are going to be dodging downpours and storms,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
You won’t need an umbrella right away. The day is off to a dry start, with temperatures in the mid-70s. However, you might feel like the air is sticking to you. Humidity is currently at 87%, according to Channel 2.
Come lunchtime, temperatures will make their way toward the predicted high of 93 degrees. That’s also when the first storms will move into metro Atlanta and other parts of North Georgia, Monahan said.
“If you get caught underneath one of those, it will briefly bring down the temperature, and it’ll come right back up as the sun comes back out,” he said.
Things should start drying out again by 8 p.m., according the latest forecast.
The morning commute is off to a relatively smooth start, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. There are no major trouble spots to report across metro Atlanta.
