Water service has been restored to several apartment buildings and businesses after crews repaired a broken water main in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday.

The break in the 12-inch main was located along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between Lynhurst Drive and Linkwood Road, according to the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management.

The damaged main disrupted water service in the area for several hours, the department said. Fifteen businesses, two fire hydrants and several apartment complexes were impacted.

MLK Jr. Drive has since reopened in both directions, but there is still some restoration work being completed in the area, officials said Wednesday evening.
