Two teenagers have been arrested for allegedly stealing vehicles from restaurant valet lots, Atlanta police said Monday.
Maricius D. Palmer, 17, of Atlanta, and a younger teenager whose name and age were not released, are believed responsible for at least three thefts, Sgt. Greg Lyon said. Only four of the five stolen vehicles have been recovered, Lyon said.
Late Thursday night, two luxury vehicles were stolen from the Ecco restaurant on 7th Street, according to police. Thieves stole both a 2014 BMW and a 2011 Land Rover, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Then, early Friday, a black Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the Krog Street Market, Lyon said.
Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, two more cars were taken from the Horseradish Grill on Powers Ferry Road. A white Mercedes and a blue Audi were both reported missing, according to police.
Later Saturday, the two suspects were located on Richardson Street, along with four of the stolen vehicles, Lyon said. The BMW has not yet been located, according to police.
Palmer was charged with theft by taking and booked Sunday into the Fulton County jail, where he was being held without bond Monday morning. The juvenile was also charged with theft by taking and taken to a youth detention center, Lyon said.
