North Georgia will get one more dry day Tuesday before rain returns to the forecast and sticks around through the end of the week.
Wednesday’s rain chance is low at 10%, and showers and storms will be scattered, according to Channel 2 Action News. But rain will become more likely heading into the weekend, peaking at a 60% chance Friday for what could be a wet day.
Tuesday’s forecast should be worry-free, however.
“We have a few clouds out there, and we’ll see even more as we get into the afternoon, but none that are going to bring us any rain,” Channel 2 meteorologist Eboni Deon said. “We’re looking pretty nice.”
Temperatures are starting the day in the low 60s and should warm up pretty quickly, reaching the 80s by lunchtime, Deon said. Atlanta’s projected high is 82 degrees, which is slightly below average for this time of year.
“Changes are on the way midweek,” she said. “On Wednesday, we start off with a few clouds. It’s still going to be a pretty decent start to the day, even warmer with all the clouds that are moving in overnight. By the time we get into the lunch hour and beyond, that’s when we will have to watch out for a stray shower or two popping up.”
Deon said there is no widespread rain in the forecast Wednesday. Showers and storms will be 30% likely Thursday as humidity begins to increase, according to Channel 2.
“It will be scattered, and some of it will be heavy at times,” Deon said. “Not lasting all day long, but that trend continues Friday going into Saturday. We’ll see scattered rain and storms, and then well see a little bit of a break as we get into Saturday afternoon.”
Temperatures should stay warm all week with afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s, according to the latest forecast.

Traffic appears to be taking its cue from Tuesday’s weather forecast, as there are no delays on metro Atlanta interstates early Tuesday morning.
“Interstates are lighter than normal, but we did pick up surface street trouble,” traffic reporter Mark Arum said at 6 a.m.
Authorities have shut down part of Briarcliff Road in northern DeKalb County after a vehicle crashed into a pole. The road is closed north of Shallowford Road, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
DeKalb commuters can take Lavista Road to get around the closure, the Traffic Center reported.
