If you enjoyed Monday’s weather, Tuesday should be even better.
More of the same sunshine, dry conditions and above-average temperatures are in store Tuesday, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan. It should be another great day to get outside.
“It’s even warmer today,” Monahan said. “We were at 78 yesterday. My forecast high for today is 79. More humid weather moves in tomorrow.”
Despite the humidity, Wednesday will still be dry, he said. The next chance of showers does not arrive until Thursday, which will allow pollen levels time to jump again.
The pollen count on Monday was in the extremely high range at 1,848 particles per cubic meter of air. With dry conditions Tuesday and Wednesday, Monahan expects levels to rise. North Georgia still has a few more weeks of peak tree pollen season to endure, he said.
“What helps, though, is some rain, and while were not going to see any of that today or tomorrow, we will see the opportunity for some of that as we go into your Thursday,” he said.
Monahan expects a system of storms to weaken as it approaches North Georgia on Thursday, but it will produce scattered showers.
“That will come with the opportunity, and its a small one, but a risk of storms,” he said.
All of North Georgia is under a Level 1 threat of severe weather Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Heavy rain and damaging wind gusts are the primary concerns.

There are no major delays on metro Atlanta interstates at 6 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
“The dry pavement is doing us a lot of favors this morning,” traffic reporter Ashley Frasca said.
At the start of the Tuesday morning rush, the slowest ride in town is the southeast Perimeter, she said. Construction was causing some delays between Bouldercrest Road and I-675, but no alternates are needed, according to the Traffic Center.
