A truck hauling eggs overturned on an I-285 exit ramp early Monday morning, officials said.

The tractor-trailer blocked the ramp from I-285 South to I-20 East, DeKalb County police spokesman Sgt. E. McCown said about 10:50 a.m. in an emailed statement.

No one was injured in the 1:30 a.m. crash, but it caused some traffic delays.

Crews waited until daylight to start cleanup, which police said has been completed. Traffic is back to normal, but the truck has not yet been flipped over, police said.

The driver of the truck was cited for failing to maintain his lane.

“Road conditions was not listed as the cause of the accident according to the accident investigator,” McCown said. “The operator of the truck started swerving as he came into the curve and lost control.”

Authorities have not said what happened to the eggs.
