The cost to use the I-85 South Express Lane between Old Peachtree and Shallowford roads in Gwinnett County hit a record $15.50 Thursday and tied that record for the third day in a row Wednesday, according to the State Road and Tollway Authority.
The previous record, set in August 2016, was $13.95.
Since the I-85 Express Lanes opened in 2011 followed by the I-75 South Metro Express Lanes in 2017, the State Road and Tollway Authority board has established or adjusted rates four times, according to the agency’s website.
The board recently set uniform toll rate pricing for all Georgia Express Lanes. Those changes went into effect Aug. 20.

The change was aimed at reducing congestion and providing “a more reliable and predictable commute for Peach Pass customers,” according to the agency.
