A woman who was in metro Atlanta to visit her mother was killed in a crash, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Jamie Flowers, 22, of Montgomery, Ala., was riding in a car with two friends just before 10:45 p.m. Friday when the vehicle “failed to yield after stopping” at a stop sign, the Georgia State Patrol said in a crash report.

The car, a 2015 Nissan Sentra heading west on Weatherstone Way, was trying to turn left onto Minix Road when a 2005 Ford pickup truck, driven by William Ramthun, hit the vehicle, the GSP said.

The impact knocked the car and the truck in opposite directions. Flowers and Ramthun were taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital, where Flowers was pronounced dead.

Ramthun’s condition was not known.

Friends and family want to see changes to a Coweta County intersection after a young woman was killed in a terrible crash.

The two friends who were in the car with Flowers were flown to Atlanta Medical Center. One of them, Darnesha Parks, is still in intensive care. Parks was driving the car at the time of the crash.

The GSP is investigating.
