A Gainesville woman was killed Thursday afternoon when another driver entered her lane and struck her vehicle head-on, authorities said.

The fatal wreck injured two others and shut down part of Keith Bridge Road for hours as Forsyth County deputies investigated. The crash occurred about 2:20 p.m. when a white Jeep Compass driven by 29-year-old Mitchell Brown crossed into the woman’s lane and collided with her black 2005 Scion xB.

The driver of the Scion, identified as 42-year-old Candi Tucker, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater.

Brown and a 26-year-old woman riding in Tucker’s car were taken to the hospital with injuries, but both are expected to survive. No charges have been filed.

The road reopened shortly before 5 p.m., deputies said.
