State troopers are investigating at least four separate crashes Thursday morning on I-75 North at the Brookwood split.

The wrecks, which involved eight vehicles, shut down the interstate between 17th Street and Northside Drive for more than two hours before lanes began reopening about 9:20 a.m.

Two commercial vehicles and six passenger vehicles were involved, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Photos from the scene appeared to show a FedEx box truck.

No major injuries were reported.

Troopers were still on scene investigating at 10 a.m., GSP spokeswoman Lt. Stephanie Stallings told AJC.com.

“The roadway was shut down due to fuel spillage from one of the commercial vehicles,” she said in an email.

During the shutdown, traffic was diverted onto I-85 North.

Authorities shut down the northbound lanes of I-75 just past the Brookwood split to investigate the crashes.
