A pedestrian was hit twice and killed trying to cross I-20 in Rockdale County, the Georgia State Patrol said.
A Toyota Camry was traveling west in the left lane of the interstate about 11:20 p.m. Saturday when the car hit Felipe Cervantes on the shoulder near mile marker 80.
Fred Washington. Jr., 32, of Conyers, was driving the Camry, the GSP reported. Washington pulled over to help when a Nissan Altima also hit Cervantes, 27, of Doraville, the GSP said.
The driver of the Nissan, Brittany Flowers, 27, of Conyers, also stopped at the scene.
Washington and Flowers were not arrested.
Troopers don’t suspect any drug or alcohol use by the drivers or pedestrian, the GSP said.
