NEW DETAILS: 2 in critical condition after car hydroplanes, wrecks on Barrett Parkway

Two men were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon when the Black Ford Mustang they were riding in spun out on Barrett Parkway, left the roadway and collided with a tree, police said.
The collision shut down the westbound lanes of Barrett Parkway near Burnt Hickory Road for hours as Marietta police investigated the wreck.

Police identified the driver of the Mustang as 19-year-old Colton Petty and his passenger as 19-year-old Dalton Dorris. Both men were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where they remain in critical condition, said Marietta police spokesman Officer Jared Rakestraw.
