A crash involving two tractor-trailers blocked all lanes on I-20 West in Villa Rica on Friday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

One of the tractor-trailers was improperly parked near Exit 24, with the driver sleeping inside the trailer’s sleeper compartment, GSP said in a news release. The other tractor-trailer was planning to turn onto the exit ramp and hit the parked big rig.

The driver of the tractor-trailer exiting I-20 had to be extricated from the trailer. He was taken to the hospital, GSP said. It’s unclear if the other driver was injured.

The tractor-trailer that hit the other one had pallets of brake rotors that scattered on the interstate, blocking all lanes, GSP said.

Just before 8 p.m., the Georgia Department of Transportation removed the wreck from it's list of active crashes, meaning the interstate should be reopened.
