The boil water order for homes and businesses around Clairmont Road has been lifted, DeKalb County officials said.

A ruptured water main last Wednesday led authorities to close a stretch of the Brookhaven road as crews tried to shut off water bubbling up through the pavement.

The boil water advisory went into effect on Thursday and the road remained closed as crews worked through the weekend to repair the 30-inch water main, authorities said.

Late Monday afternoon, DeKalb County spokesman Burke Brennan said the boil water order had been lifted.

Crews continue to repair the road, he said.

One lane remains closed in each direction and will be so for “the next few days,” Brennan said.
