A student was hit while walking outside of a crosswalk near Duluth High School Wednesday, Duluth police said.

The student was taken to Gwinnett County Medical Center in Lawrenceville in stable condition, Duluth police spokesman Ted Sadowski said. The crash happened about 7:05 a.m. near Buford Highway at Brock Road.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

No other details were released.
