A “serious injury” crash between a car and a school bus is causing extensive traffic delays in west Cobb County, police said Wednesday.

The crash has shut down part of Old Due West Road at Antioch Road, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash, Cobb police confirmed.

Three people who were in the car were injured and taken to a hospital, according to Cobb fire.

“While no students were on the bus, a passenger vehicle did cross the center line of a two-lane road and collide with a Cobb County school bus,” a school district spokesperson said. “The driver and passengers are receiving medical attention.”

The Traffic Center recommends drivers use Burnt Hickory Road as an alternate.
