Authorities are investigating a five-vehicle crash that involved a DeKalb County police officer and led to delays Friday on I-285 west.

The officer was hit from behind but wasn’t injured, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, she said.

The accident, which involved an 18-wheeler and four cars, happened about 9:45 a.m. before Buford Highway.

Two of six lanes were blocked just after 10:20 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The agency estimated a clearance time of 11:30 a.m.

No other details were released.
