Two people were hurt in an accident involving five cars and a tractor-trailer that blocked all lanes on I-75 north near I-575 for about two hours Monday afternoon.

Georgia State Patrol officials said a passenger vehicle cut off a tractor-trailer about 3:30 p.m. The truck jackknifed as it hit the median wall, then veered across traffic and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe in the right lane.

The driver of the truck and a passenger involved in a second wreck behind the truck were both hurt and taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to the GSP.

Traffic had to be routed onto I-575 because of fuel spilled onto the roadway that required more extensive cleanup.

All lanes were open again by 5:30 p.m.
