A 2-year-old girl is recovering after falling Wednesday from a third-story apartment in DeKalb County.

The child, however, did not sustain serious injuries or broken bones despite landing on a bed of rocks, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Witness Carlos White shot cellphone video outside of the Reserve at Stone Creek apartments as emergency workers came to the scene in the 1400 block of Hairston Road near Stone Mountain.

"I heard a child screaming,” White told the television station.

He said windows sit on the floors of the apartments “so it’s easy for anyone to fall out.”

The child’s mother was home at the time of the accident. She has five children, Channel 2 reported.

The injured child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
