Newton County deputies are seeking clues after a teenager was found shot to death last week at a home near Covington.

Authorities responded to a call about an unresponsive person on Spring Road about 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 19, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday in a news release.

Deputies arrived at the home to find Quindadarius Ronshay Russell, 19, of Covington, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not said what prompted the shooting or if they are searching for any suspects.

“We do have several leads we are following up on,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Caitlin Jett told AJC.com.
