Another day of sunshine, lower humidity and cooler weather is in the forecast Thursday.

Temperatures are starting the day higher than on Wednesday, which saw morning lows dip into the 50s in parts of North Georgia. Atlanta is in the 70s at sunrise, but the city should finish cooler than the day before with a projected high of 82 degrees, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The average high for this time of year is 88 degrees.

“Getting outside, we look really good over the next few days,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “Temperatures are going to climb into the low to mid-80s, a little bit cooler than we usually are this time of year.”

Monahan said North Georgia will see a little more in the way of clouds Thursday, but there will still be plenty sun. While there is a 10% chance of rain, Monahan said most will not be impacted by stray showers.

“We’re going to be dry, a partly cloudy sky across the area,” he said. “Any showers should stay off to our south into the afternoon.”

Rain chances ramp up into the weekend, but Monahan said even then wet weather should not be a concern for any outdoor plans. Both Saturday and Sunday have a 30% chance of an isolated shower or storm.

“Go ahead with the plans, just be aware in the afternoon we could see a couple of popups across North Georgia,” Monahan said. “Today, not going to be any of that.”
