Extra police officers were on campus Wednesday at Brookwood High School after several staff members received threatening emails. But the school day proceeded as normal, Gwinnett County school leaders said.
The same email was sent Tuesday to several employees at the school and was sent from the same email address, according to Sloan Roach, spokeswoman for Gwinnett schools.
“It was threats that indicate that someone might shoot or do a violent act to a school,” Roach told Channel 2 Action News.
The emails did not name Brookwood, but school leaders treated the threats seriously, adding more than a dozen extra officers at the school.
Police are investigating the source of the emails.
