A Texas man who was playing with a large snake in the street suffered minor injuries after he was hit by a pickup truck Monday night, KSAT reported.

San Antonio police said the snake was approximately 6 feet long. The man, who police said was in his 30s, saw the snake in the street and bent over to look at it when he was hit by the truck, according to Spectrum News.

The species of the snake, and its condition, were unknown, according to KSAT.

The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the north side of San Antonio. The man refused to go to a hospital, the television station reported.

Police said the man driving the pickup truck is not expected to face charges, Spectrum News reported.
