Atlanta police have identified a suspect in an April gun battle at a southeast Atlanta apartment complex that left one man dead.

Investigators have secured an arrest warrant for Marcus Rozier, who will face one count of murder in connection with the shooting death of Remarcus Lowe at the Trestletree Village Apartments.

On April 25 about 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex, police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker said at the time. Police found two injured men at the scene, later identified as Rozier and Lowe.

Lowe, who was still holding a handgun, was unresponsive and declared dead at the scene, Rooker said. Rozier was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital but refused to cooperate with investigators. According to police, Rozier left the hospital before police were able to charge him.

“Based on evidence gathered at the scene, this incident appears to have been a gun battle between two individuals,” Rooker said. Investigators later identified Rozier as the shooter, but he has not been located and help is needed in finding him, according to the APD announcement.

Anyone with information about Rozier’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. Information can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers tip line at 404-577-8477 or online at www.stopcrimeatl.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for the $2,000 reward for information leading to Rozier’s arrest or indictment.
